Gold's Journey from Exploration to Mining
Mining
Mining includes drilling, charging, blasting, loading and transporting the ore to the processing facilities. When mining, one to three times as much waste rock must be excavated to make access tothe ore. Part of this waste rock can be classified as not environmentally hazardous, and has a commercial use for instance as ballast material. The rest is disposed of in an environmentally friendly way.
