Haveri project, Finland

Haveri, is situated in the Tampere Schist Belt on the continuation of the Gold Line across the Bottnian Gulf to south-western Finland, and is thus a natural expansion for our activities. Extensive exploration work has been carried out over recent years including 126 diamond drill holes totalling 30.000 meters, which clearly shows Haveri's potential of becoming an important gold mine with high tonnage and low per-unit cost.

"The scenario given above is based on several parallel and sub-vertical ore shoots in the vicinity of the old Haveri mine, indicated by drilling within a 100 metre wide and more than 300 m long zone in a north-eastern to south-western direction. The ore shoots are open towards depth below 360 m elevation and show exceptional widths and high gold grades, which can be the base for both bulk mining and for a traditional underground mine. Drill hole MW03 assays on a core length of 450 m averages 1.05 g/t Au and more than 0.12 % Cu and is an example of a wide gold-copper mineralization. Drill hole MD05 assays on 8.95 m length averages 5.92 g/t Au from 78.5-87.45 m and from 244-278.5 m the section length of 34.5 m has an average gold grade of 3.03 g/t. Visible gold occurs frequently in cores from Haveri. A number of gold mineralized zones with high-grade gold have been identified close to the Main Zone, eg. at Peltosaari and Ansomäki, which together with the Main Zone are situated on an aero magnetic anomaly within an 1 500 x 250 m2 area together with other gold mineralized zones."

-Our immediate goal is - through engineering work and geological efforts - to develop a large mineral resource and to thereafter set up for mining and extraction of the gold using large-scale methods, following the same concepts employed in our gold project in Fäboliden. We are also looking into the possibility of creating a cash flow relatively soon by utilizing a nearby processing plant, says Karl-Åke Johansson, Lappland Goldminers MD.

Haveri historically from 1999 has a gold resource of 742,000 oz (not calculated in compliance with National Instrument 43-101) Further below are some examples of drilling results from Haveri, produced by Northern Lion Gold since then.

Breakthrough Gold Zone discovered

The Breakthrough Zone is located to the west and southwest of the Haveri open pit and is comprised of silicified felsic and mafic volcanic and volcaniclastic rocks that underlie rocks with a distinctive geochemical signature. It includes two zones previously referred to as "Tombstone" and "Mine West". Hole TS-06 drilled to test the new zone (the "Breakthrough Zone"), announced by the Company on March 15, 2005, encountered four separate bands of gold mineralisation, the most significant of which graded 27.20 grams per tonne of gold over 9.2 metres. Core from two of the four intervals was observed to contain fine disseminations of visible gold.

Successful 2004 drilling

Haveri Mine Zone - Continuity of gold mineralization has now been established beneath the old Haveri mine and shaft with results from 5 drill holes (SZ-03, 05 & ME-01, 02, 03). Mineralization in both zones is open down plunge and extends to a depth of at least 300 metres.

Peltosaari Zone - Drilling results from 3 holes (P-01, 02, 03) have extended this previously identified gold and copper bearing pyrite/ pyrrhotite/chalcopyrite zone down dip, to the west, and to a depth of 300 metres.

Gold nuggets from the Ansomäki claim. Ansomäki is directly bordering the Haveri claim. The gold was recovered from two buckets of till and organic material sampled 250m apart. The Ansomäki claim has not been drilled yet. Click to enlarge
