The Gold Line

Lappland Goldminers' main area of interest is the "Gold Line" in Västerbotten, which lies along a regional tectonic zone which extends from the Caledonian Mountains to the Bothnian Gulf. The rock which are nearly 2 billion years old.

The structure may represent an older rift zone squeezed between two distinct younger formations. The gold mineralisation is mainly encountered together with arsenopyrite and pyrrhotite mineralisation in meta-volcanic and mata-sedimentary rocks. During 15 years of active exploration, which began with boulder tracing and regional geochemical surveys, a large number of gold prospects were found on the Gold Line zone. These provide evidence for that a new important gold ore field had been found in Västerbotten, located west and southwest of the established Skellefte District.

Lappland Goldminers' gold projects include Fäboliden, Knaften, Stortjärnhobben, Sandviksträsk, Högås and Tjålmträsk, among others. Other interesting gold projects on the Gold Line are Svartliden, Skirträsk, Ersmarksberget and Klippen, which have other owners.

As well as these known gold mineralisations, there are a number of exploration targets. With further exploration, these targets can possibly be the source of new, interesting deposits.
