First North

First North is an alternative marketplace run by the Stockholm Stock Exchange. Companies with shares being traded on First North do not fall under the same regulations as those listed on the regular exchange. They follow a less extensive set of rules, applicable mainly to smaller companies and start-ups. Buying shares in a company being traded on First North can therefore carry a higher degree of risk than in one listed on the regular exchange. All companies trading on First North have a Certified Adviser who’s job it is to ensure that the company complies with First North's regulations pertaining to information reporting to the market and to investors.

The Certified Adviser reviews companies about to be listed on First North. Stockholmsbörsen AB (The Stockholm Exchange) approves applications for such listings.
